i am setting up a reminder today! i want to remember to post more on my blog. That is my goal for 2008. So, now to think of what to blog! hmmmm.....


I made this great shrimp last night- my version of asian salt and pepper shrimp. it's ez peel shrimp in a batter of flour, salt, pepper, a little tony cachere's (for some heat) and beer (just enough to make the batter like pancake batter. once the shrimp is cooked in hot oil I ladled on a concoction of sauteed chives, jalapeno, and garlic with a touch more salt and pepper. it was soooo good!

Christmas recital

Giuliana had her Christmas recital last weekend and it was darling. All the girls danced to holiday songs. G enjoyed this costume more than last spring's costume as there were jingle bells attached to her skirt. Who wouldn't want jingle bells jingling while she walked!

The masquerade ball

Last night we went to Reuben's office CHristmas Party. IT was a masquerade ball at the Houston Natural Science Museum. We enjoyed the evening tasting all the unusual foods and seeing everyone having fun. There were a lot of people there! Aparently they invited everyone from the Houston area so there was at least a thousand people? Anyway, here we are, me in my dress I just bought mere hours earlier!

Yeah, can you tell we didn't plan to take the pictures? They weren't quite dressed for Christmas photos but they came out so cute that I am going to use them anyway! lol

Fried snowflakes

Wanda gave me the recipe for fried snowflakes so we made one tonight. Fry one tortilla in butter then add honey, powdered sugar, and chocolate shavings if you have them. It was quite tasty!

My 2007 Christmas cards are done!

My Christmas cards are done! Fifty in the can. It seems like I finished them so quickly this year. Now to get onto the Christmas shopping. Oh and the decorations! The kids' playroom tree is up. Now to do the big tree. I know I will love it when I see it done but pulling it out of the attic and assembling. sigh.

I'm a little teapot short and stout.

Okay so I am not a teapot but a tea kettle! Brrr it's so cold here that I thought it was time to break down and buy one! It' so pretty and green. Guess I better start drinking tea huh? lol I do have one tea that I like. It's a vanilla pyramid tea. It's yummy.And I always have my French press.

Oh these babies!

How quickly they are growing up. I look at them and I swear I can catch a glimpse of them at 17! It's crazy... but I feel like I can see just a hint of how I think they will look then. They are losing their baby features so quickly. All of these pictures are from this weekend.

my saturday creation.....

I loved this bead collection- milky stones mixed with crystals, clear glass beads in assorted shapes, and white glass beads with yellow/orange sunbursts. Now I just need to work on my photography skills to really highlight the beads!

My newest creation.....

My friend, Sharon, found this beautiful necklace on a blog and sent it to m....so I kind of recreated it. The original was a beauty and I am proud of this one as well!


This is a great hobby though I can see how the money adds up fast! I won't tell how much I have spent on gorgeous beads! Lol let's just say I better start figure out how to make some money off it! Or start making Christmas presents!

My first necklace

I finally found the right wire to make this necklace! I bought the wrong stuff first- but I love how it turned out! Target has come out with this line of necklaces all using the same wire style and I love it!

Ghostly goodies

I got this idea from Alicia- it's actually the underwear packaging from Nico's new underwear! I stuffed them with bon bons for Nico's two teachers.....what a great idea Alicia! Thanks!
